Step 1. Apply for Admission

The first step to enrolling in CCD is to create an account and apply online. Don’t forget to save your student identification number.

  • There is no application fee.
  • College Opportunity Fund (COF) pays a portion of your total in-state tuition and is eligible for undergraduate students. Simply apply for the COF on your admissions application (see the last question). You can also learn more about COF here.
  • Guest students (taking a couple of classes at CCD while enrolled in another college) are not eligible for financial aid. If you have applied as a guest student by mistake please contact us to update your account.

Step 2. Determine Course Placement

In general, students who have completed college-level English and math coursework at a regionally accredited institution of higher education with a grade of “C” or higher are exempt and do not need to take a placement test. Unofficial college transcripts can be reviewed to exempt a student from taking all or portions of the assessment tests (math and English). Unofficial transcripts must be submitted along with a completed Transcript Intake Form for review.

Students with minimum ACT/SAT scores within the past five (5) years may also be exempt. However, if the English and math assessment requirements are not met through previous credits you may need to submit unofficial/official test scores to the Testing Center or determine course placement through another means.

Step 3. Success Onboarding and Resources (SOAR)

Your SOAR session covers all of the important information you need as you begin your adventure at CCD as a student.

Topics include choosing the right classes, resources, financial aid, and scholarships, getting involved on campus, registering for courses, and more.

To access your SOAR session, please log into CCDConnect. Once you are logged into the student portal, click on the Success Onboarding and Resources.

Step 4. Get Academic Advising

Connect with your assigned academic advisor through the Academic Advising and Student Success Center by calling 303.556.2481. We serve students through appointments made through CCDConnect. Availability depends on the time of the semester.

As a transfer student, seeing your assigned academic advisor is critical, ensuring that you choose the right program or major for your education and career goals, and reach the goal of graduation and/or transfer.

Step 5. Register for Classes

Register early for the best selection of classes and times. To register for your classes log in to your CCDConnect student account and click on the Navigate icon. Click on the Planner tab to see your planned courses and build your schedule. Pick the dates and times that work best for you for each course. When you are done adding sections click on the register button.

Click here for detailed instructions on how to register.

If you have questions or run into concerns or errors, we are here to help you, contact Academic Advising at 303-556-2481 or Advising@ccd.edu. You can also visit the Cyber Center on the first floor of the Confluence Building Room 123 for assistance Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Step 6. Access Your CCD E-Mail Account

Your student CCDConnect email account is the official means of communication between you and the College. Once you have registered for classes, you will gain access to your student email account. At least once a week you should sign in to the CCDConnect web portal and view your registration, financial aid status, and check your email.

If you are unable to access your student email account, contact the 24/7 helpline at 1.888.800.9198 for log-in assistance.

Step 7. Complete the Payment Process

Make payment arrangements at least one week before classes start.

If you miss the payment deadline, you may be dropped from all classes and your original classes may no longer be available.

Payment options are available.
