Enrollment Process for Online Students

Community College of Denver (CCD) is a launching point, a place you can earn certificates, degrees, or a foundation of courses to help you transfer to a four-year college.

And many of our certificates and degrees can be completed fully online.

Get Started

To determine if online learning is right for you, we suggest you start by completing our online quiz, “Is Online Learning Right for Me?”. While online and hybrid environments offer much more flexibility, they require more self-direction and self-discipline from you.

All students must demonstrate you are ready for college prior to starting classes. CCD provides several options for you to do this at CCD.edu/CollegeReady

Step 5. Self-Register for ‘Learn D2L’ & ‘How to Become a Successful Online Student’

Learn D2L is a self-paced class designed to familiarize you with Desire2Learn, our online platform. In this class, you will learn how to view content, take quizzes, post discussions, and turn in assignments. How to Become a Successful Online Student is also a self-paced class, and will provide you with tips on how to succeed in your online courses. You can sign up for both of these classes in D2L by clicking on the TipsNTricks D2L link in Desire2Learn.

Step 6A. Meet with an Advisor

Our advisors will help you pick the right classes, understand program requirements and register for classes according to your program pathway. For details about your advisor and how to make appointments, visit CCD.edu/Advising.

Step 6B. Register for Classes

  • If you didn’t already do so during New Student Orientation, be sure to register for your classes by accessing your CCDConnect student account. Register early for the best selection of classes and times.
  • Authorize CCD to apply your COF stipend to discount your tuition bill through the “Authorize COF” link on CCDConnect under the Financial Aid & Payments tab.

Step 7. Pay Tuition & Confirm Your Financial Aid

After you register for classes, complete one of the following:

  1. Make sure your financial aid award covers your whole tuition & fees bill,
  2. Pay your tuition in full, or
  3. Set up a payment plan.

Make sure your mailing address is up to date with us on CCDConnect, as you will be sent instructions on how to select your refund preferences should you have any refund issued to you by CCD. This information will be mailed to you within 7-10 business days after registering for classes.
