To provide students with innovative learning experiences and resources that support the academic journey. This is accomplished through academic coaching, individual and group tutoring, technology tools and resources, workshops, and virtual events.
Student learning is supported via individual study spaces, collaboration spaces and tools, professional tutoring in a variety of subjects, study skills and strategies, computer-use zones and printing stations. A calendar of ‘Excel Extensions,’ — which are mini sessions on math, calculator use, study skills, writing strategies — is available now in the events calendar. Coming soon - virtual tutoring!

Or choose to work independently, knowing that a tutor is just a raised-hand away. Join in for topic-based mini-seminars throughout the semester, ranging from using your calculator to factoring to the unit circle.
At the Writing Zone, CCD students receive help on all stages of writing assignments, scholarship essays, job application materials, and more. Students can come in for walk-in sessions of up to 30 minutes, twice a day on an assignment. From brainstorming to posting on D2L, we are here to support you!
The ESL Zone at CCD functions as a bridge between our many international students and the college itself. ESL tutors are experienced in working on basic grammar needs and pronunciation skills, developing advanced essays and doing research-based projects. We are a drop-in zone with 20-minute, one-on-one, sessions with anyone with an ESL background, even if they did not complete a single ESL class while attending CCD. Computers are available, with or without the guidance of a tutor, a lending library where you can check out appropriately leveled books in English, and space for you to come together to complete group work.
