FSI Class Schedule

2019 Terms

  • Term 1: January 22 - March 29
  • Term 2: April 15 - June 30 | Enrollment starts in March!
  • Term 3: July 8 - September 19
  • Term 4: October 7 - December 12 

Placement of these classes is based on standardized assessments taken after completing the FSI orientation. Classes are held two days a week (Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays) in the Confluence Building on the Auraria Campus and at community locations like Mi Casa Resource Center and Denver Housing Authority. Each class is three to four hours (study lab and workshops can be added at no additional cost for nine or more hours/week). 

English as a Second Language Classes

Classes are offered at three levels. You will be placed in a class level based on your test scores.

ESL Level A Mondays & Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
ESL Level B Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. - Noon
ESL for Transitions Mondays & Wednesdays, 4 - 7:00 p.m.

GED® or HiSET® Test Prep

There are three levels of adult education for GED or HiSET test preparation. You will be placed in a class level based on your test scores.

Adult Basic Education Level C Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. - Noon
Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Adult Basic Education Level D Mondays & Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. - Noon or 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. - Noon or 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Adult Basic Education Level E Mondays & Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. - Noon or
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Learning Lab, TuneUps, Tutoring

FSI offers a free drop-in Learning Lab for enrolled students on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 - 4:00 p.m. TuneUps are free workshops offered at different times during each term in reading, writing and math. One-on-one tutoring is available at multiple locations for students who have passed at least two of the official GED or HiSET tests.
