Associate Professor Kurt Pond joined CCD nearly 25 years ago. As part of the Center for Arts & Humanities, Kurt teaches philosophy and enjoys introducing students to the ‘exciting world of philosophy.’ He also admits a big part of his job is to provide jokes and dispense chocolates for both students and other faculty members. He holds Bachelor of Art and Master of Art degrees in Applied Philosophy.
His prior work experience as a bartender at Denver’s own My Brothers Bar and at the Holiday Inn prepared him for teaching and dealing with a variety of individuals in a small setting. He speaks a little ancient Greek and has three dogs, three cats, and two birds. A true farm boy at heart, in the past he has had chickens and a ferret, and he would eventually like to own a goat and a pig. In his spare time, Kurt enjoys reading, reading, reading, and playing music with old pals.
