Stop by the Confluence Assembly Rooms on April 25th, 2024 from 10am-1pm to become more financially savvy!

Expand your financial knowledge and have a chance at winning a scholarship!

April is National Financial Literacy Month and CCD wants to do its part to bring awareness and education to its students and community. CCD prides itself on our efforts to provide holistic care to our students and financial wellbeing is key to that. We will have several presenters from the Denver Metro Community and CCD to provide informational workshops to expand financial literacy.  There will also be multiple organizations present to provide follow-up resources on how they can assist beyond this event in empowering attendees towards financial strength.  

A $50 (Fall 2024) scholarship will be given to 1 attendee of each workshop.  *Please note - only 1 scholarship can be won by a participant.

Workshop Schedule:

• Budgeting That Makes Sense! | 10:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. | Rufino Sanchez, Credit Union of Denver

Doing life with you!  You'll learn how to understand budgeting basics.  We'll also be covering how to approach a realistic budget that fits your needs.

• Strategies to Savings | 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. | Lidia Diaz-Espinoza, Servicios De La Raza

Come learn strategies to build your savings and makes those savings work for you!

• Investing & Growing Long-Term Wealth | 11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. | Brian Palmeri, Financial Literacy Coach, TRIO EOC

Learn how to use time to your advantage to grow your wealth and create long-term financial stability.

• Student Loan Repayment | 12 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. | Erick Diaz, Loan Coordinator at Community College of Denver

Student loan repayment has resumed, so now what?  We'll review plans for repayment going forward and setting yourself up for success.

• Financial Self-Care | 12:30 p.m. - 1 p.m. | Kathi Fanning, The Center for Trauma & Resilience

Finances can be a very triggering subject.  Attend to learn strategies on managing the stress and anxiety associated with personal finance.
