First-Generation Student Stories

Hear from first-generation students as they redefine what’s possible and share advice for the next cohort of first-generation students.

The Community College of Denver is proud to be a designated First-Generation-Serving campus. This designation is awarded by the Colorado Department of Higher Education to colleges and universities that enroll a higher-than-average number of first-generation students.

Many students in Colorado face barriers in accessing postsecondary learning experiences. The First Generation-Serving Designation centers on equity and recognizes campuses that are doing the work to uplift marginalized communities.

Students 17 and older can apply to the Community College of Denver for free. You will be automatically accepted, and our admissions team will be in touch regarding your financial aid package. Click to learn more about the admissions process for first-time students.
