HEIDENHAIN CNC Programming

HEIDENHAIN Controllers provides technical training covering installation, programming, and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming as well as general training for distributors and end-users. CCD’s Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) is one of two U.S.-based official training sites for HEIDENHAIN Controllers.

Who Should Attend

This non-credit training is recommended for basic CNC operators, but anyone can attend, regardless of your prior experience (must be at least 18 years old).

Participants will receive an official certification from the HEIDENHAIN Corporation.

Course Contents

  • Basic knowledge: File management, tool table, presettable
  • Path functions: cartesian contour description, polar contour description
  • Cycles: drilling cycles, cycles for milling pockets, studs and slots, face milling, SL cycles, coordinate transformation cycles
  • Programming techniques: program section repeats, sub-programming, nesting
  • Pattern definitions: DXF converter and the simple contour formula

Objectives of the course: The course participants can create and test programs from workpiece drawings with HEIDENHAIN TNC controllers/controls (TNC 640 and iTNC530).

Cost

The cost is $700 per person. The participant is responsible for travel, meals and lodging.

Mastercam

Mastercam 2019 includes many new features and enhancements. This one-day, non-credit training is designed for anyone who has a basic understanding of Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machining.  Take the next step into Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) programming by attending this introductory course. 

Taught by an experienced CNC machining instructor with ten years of hands-on Mastercam experience in machining prototyping. The training is held in the computer lab at the Community College of Denver's Advanced Manufacturing Center. Must be at least 18-years-old to attend.

True Position in GD&T

This one-day non-credit training teaches participants how to measure and calculate true position. The course is designed for participants who have a basic understanding of general metrology in an industrial setting. Take the next step or refresh your learning in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) by attending this introductory course. 

Taught by an experienced CNC machining instructor with 10 years of hands-on experience in machining prototyping. Must be at least 18-years-old to attend.

  • Feature control frame components
  • Basic dimension relationships
  • The reasoning for true position over linear locations
  • Calculating the diametric area of center points
  • True position for features other than hole

 Cost

$100 for one 6-hour course. Maximum 12.

Welding

Welding is one of the most sought after skills employers are looking for in today’s competitive market. If you are a beginner looking to understand the basics, or you’re experienced and want to improve your welding skillset, you've come to the right place. These evening sessions are facilitated in an open-lab format. Our trained facilitators will get you started on a project that meets your needs. We also offer the option to prepare for and earn an American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 certification exam at our facility.

CCD welding instructors facilitate our open labs.

Cost

Four-Evening Open Labs | Fee - $394.00*

AWS Certification Exams - $200 per exam

*Additional materials fees may apply. Please bring: safety glasses, hood, welding jacket, welding gloves, and steel-toed boots. Some supplies may be available to borrow upon request. Contact Matthew Sweeney for more details.

  • Open labs are offered in four-week blocks; Fee includes all four sessions.

Wire EDM Level 1

We offer wire Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) basic training for beginners. All training is on the Agie Charmilles Cut20p Wire EDM machine and led by our experienced wire EDM instructors at Community College of Denver.

  • Wire Electro Discharge Machining (EDM) safety and operational concepts.
  • Standard components and basic preventative maintenance of wire EDM machines.
  • Basic operating and troubleshooting in wire EDM machining.

$150 per person for one 8-hour course. Maximum 6.
