Wire EDM

HEIDENHAIN Controllers provides technical training covering installation, programming and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming as well as general training for distributors and end-users. CCD’s Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) is one of two U.S.-based official training sites for HEIDENHAIN Controllers.

Who Should Attend

This noncredit training is recommended for basic CNC operators, but anyone can attend, regardless of your prior experience (must be 18 years old and older).

Participants will receive an official certification from the HEIDENHAIN Corporation.

Course Contents

  • Basic knowledge: File management, tool table, preset table
  • Path functions: cartesian contour description, polar contour description
  • Cycles: drilling cycles; cycles for milling pockets, studs and slots; face milling; SL cycles; coordinate transformation cycles
  • Programming techniques: program section repeats; sub-programming; nesting
  • Pattern definitions, DXF converter and the simple contour formula

Objectives of the course: The course participants can create and test programs from workpiece drawings with HEIDENHAIN TNC controllers/controls (TNC 640 and iTNC530).

Cost

The cost is $700 per person. Participant is responsible for travel, meals and lodging.

We offer wire Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) basic training for beginners. All training is on the Agie Charmilles Cut20p Wire EDM machine and led by our experienced wire EDM instructors at Community College of Denver.

Who Should Attend

This noncredit training is recommended for basic Computer Numerical Control (CNC) operators and machinists, but anyone can attend, regardless of prior experience (must be 18 years old or older).

Course content

  • Use of the CNC wire EDM machine controllers; Operating the CNC wire EDM machines.
  • Evaluate the correctness of a G language program (G-code) in the CNC wire EDM machines. Adjust the CNC wire EDM machine's programming.
  • Proper machine set up for the operation of CNC wire EDM machines, including safety requirements for a wire EDM machines.
  • Basic maintenance of CNC wire EDM machines.

Cost

$500 per person. Maximum 6.

We offer customized non-credit packages for companies seeking welding training for all levels, from beginner to advanced welders.

Our courses are taught by CCD welding instructors who have field experience.

We also offer American Welding Certification (AWS) testing and exam preparation.
