DENVER, August 4, 2026 — The Community College of Denver Foundation announces that it has received a $325,000 grant from the Reisher Scholars Program at The Denver Foundation. The award is part of a landmark $25 million statewide initiative commemorating the scholarship program’s 25th anniversary. The funds will provide scholarships to students at the Community College of Denver (CCD) over the next two academic years.
The funding recognizes the CCD Foundation's longstanding partnership with the Reisher Scholars Program and its commitment to creating pathways to higher education for Colorado students. The Foundation is one of 28 current and future Reisher partner organizations receiving anniversary funding.
“This generous $325,000 investment will create meaningful opportunities for CCD students by helping remove financial barriers that can stand between them and completing their education,” said Jim Chavez, executive director of the Community College of Denver Foundation. “We are deeply grateful to the Reisher Family Foundation and The Denver Foundation for their longstanding commitment to Colorado students and for partnering with us to make higher education more accessible and attainable.”
The grant will expand scholarship opportunities for CCD students with demonstrated financial need, helping more students stay on track to earn their degrees and build a stronger future. Thanks to generous donors and partners like the Reisher Scholars Program, nearly 70% of CCD graduates complete their education debt-free—a testament to the life-changing impact of philanthropic investment.
“This investment celebrates 25 years of transformative partnerships and positions the Reisher Scholars Program for its next chapter of growth,” said Javier Alberto Soto, president and CEO of The Denver Foundation, which administers the scholarship program. “By putting significant resources directly into the hands of institutions that share our commitment to student success, we are strengthening relationships statewide and opening doors for the next generation of Colorado scholars.”
