Community College of Denver to Host First-Ever Commencement Ceremony at Coors Field

A historic milestone as more than 600 graduates celebrate their achievements at one of Colorado’s most iconic venues.

Denver, Colo. — May 12, 2026 — The Community College of Denver (CCD) will make history on Thursday, May 14, 2026, as the first academic institution to host a commencement ceremony at Coors Field, celebrating more than 600 graduates from across its diverse academic programs.

“Hosting commencement at Coors Field is a powerful reflection of the scale and impact of our students’ achievements,” said Peter Lindstrom, Interim President of the Community College of Denver. “Our graduates represent resilience, determination, and the promise of a stronger future for our community. We are honored to celebrate this milestone in such an iconic Colorado venue.”

The graduating class reflects the strength and diversity of CCD’s student body, including learners of all ages earning credentials ranging from high school diplomas to bachelor’s degrees. More than 60 percent of CCD students are first-generation college students, and many graduates are prepared to transfer to four-year institutions or enter the workforce with in-demand skills. Notably, approximately 70 percent of CCD graduates complete their education with zero student loan debt, reinforcing the college’s commitment to affordability and student success.

“Celebrating the accomplishments of Community College of Denver graduates at Coors Field reflects the importance of education, perseverance, and connection across our city,” said Kevin Kahn, Chief Customer Officer & Senior Vice President of Ballpark Operations for the Colorado Rockies. “We are thrilled to welcome CCD and honored to help create a memorable experience as graduates celebrate this important milestone.”

The ceremony will bring together graduates, students, families, faculty, and community members in a shared celebration of achievement and the transformative impact of higher education.
