The Colorado Health Careers Collaborative was created to provide seamless pathways from school to employment for ages 16-24 in healthcare fields for Coloradans.

The Collaborative was co-created by Community College of Denver (CCD) and Arapahoe Community College (ACC) in partnership with:

About the Academy

The Colorado Health Careers Collaborative will be hosting the Colorado Health Careers Academy in the Summer of 2024. Learn a little more about the Academy:

Free to Eligible Participants:

  • Must be between the ages of 16-24
  • Interested in healthcare
  • Willing to work with a navigator from ACC or CCD

This curriculum will include post-secondary certification pathways, career navigation, and innovative virtual job shadow experiences & support talent pipelines to Colorado’s largest health systems. The Academy curriculum will be focused on some of the fastest-growing health occupations, including but not limited to Medical Assistant, Nursing, Pharmacy Technician, Radiology Technician, Respiratory Therapist, and Surgical Technician.

Students will gain knowledge of health career opportunities, will become self-aware of their aptitudes and interests, and will obtain direct experience in the industry through virtual and in-person formats. Students who complete the academy will gain support from navigators to be hired into entry-level positions with our healthcare partners and navigating higher education.

Students who complete the Academy will receive a $500 scholarship deposited into their own CollegeInvest account.

More Information About the Program

The 2024 Academy runs from June 10 - July 26, 2024 with no classes the week of July 1 - 5 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

The Summer Academy will be held at CCD or ACC Campuses, depending on which school district / community-based organization the student is a part of.

The time commitment for Monday - Thursday is 1-3 hours of online e-learning modules that can be completed at the student's own pace. On Fridays, students will be in person for hands-on learning about 5-6 hours.
