AS-BSN Collaborative Program
Community College of Denver (CCD) and Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) offer the AS-BSN Collaborative Program, a streamlined transfer pathway to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Students who complete the Associate of Science in Pre-Nursing (AS-BSN) at CCD are guaranteed junior standing at MSU Denver, with no more than 69 remaining credits needed to complete the BSN.
The AS-BSN Collaborative Program was designed with students in mind, providing a seamless transfer experience that helps students move efficiently from CCD to MSU Denver while preparing for a rewarding career as a registered nurse.
AS-BSN Nursing Collaborative Program
The AS-BSN Collaborative Program follows a structured, cohort-based model. Students complete the last three semesters of the AS-BSN program at CCD as a cohort. The approved cohort size is 10 students.
Students must complete, or be in the process of completing, the 16 credit hours of prerequisite coursework outlined in Semester 1 of the academic plan to apply to the AS-BSN program.
Students admitted under this agreement are not required to reapply to MSU Denver for entry into the nursing program.
Students will not be required to repeat previously completed general education coursework, provided such courses fall within the established transfer time limits. All prior coursework will be evaluated and accepted in accordance with CCD’s transfer credit policies.

Admission into the AS-BSN Collaborative Program guarantees acceptance into the BSN program at MSU Denver, provided students successfully earn a minimum grade of “C” and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in the eight courses below:
- CHE 1011 Introduction to Chemistry I with Lab: GT-SC1
- MAT 1260 Introduction to Statistics: GT-MA1
- BIO 2101 Human Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab: GT-SC1
- BIO 2102 Human Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab: GT-SC1
- BIO 2104 Microbiology with Lab: GT-SC1
- PSY 2440 Human Growth and Development: GT-SS3
- BIO 2116 Pathophysiology
- HWE 1050 Human Nutrition
The application cycle is open September 1st- November 15th

- Completion (or in-progress completion) of Bio 2101 and one or more of the following:
- English 1021
- Math 1120
- Psychology 1001
- Communications 1015
- Casper situational judgment test (z-score provided by Acuity)
- Documentation of health care–related earned hours in the 12 months preceding the end of the first term at CCD (i.e. letter from an employer or transcripts for completed course work.)
Some programs and/or courses may require additional fees in addition to the base tuition and fees. High-cost course fees are used to support the maintenance and development of the course labs and are embedded within your general tuition.
