Conrad Kehn

Conrad is a music technology specialist, a composer, a performer, an educator, and an arts administrator. He is the founding Director of The Playground; a chamber ensemble dedicated to modern music.

At CCD Conrad oversees the Recording Arts Technology program. He has been on the CCD faculty for over 20 years and really believes in the community college mission of providing opportunity to a diverse student body who may not have that opportunity otherwise.

An award-winning composer, his output includes contemporary and traditional chamber music, multi-media works, and popular music. As a vocalist, Conrad specializes in electronic music, improvisation, and contemporary chamber music.

An advocate for arts education, Conrad and his team spend 100+ days a year bringing music creation and music technology programs to K-12 students. He is an advocate for music programs rooted in creativity, and technology, as a way to provide more equity, access, and diversity in music programs and to better prepare ALL students for the future.

In addition to performing Conrad maintains an active schedule of speaking engagements and master classes sharing his experience in music technology, musical entrepreneurship, chamber ensemble management, composition, and creativity in the K12 music curriculum.
