What We Do
About Us
Career Connected Learning (CCL) connects CCD students’ academic experiences to meaningful careers. By partnering with faculty and employers, CCL supports student career readiness, workforce engagement, and career placement—advancing CCD’s commitment to economic mobility and strong student outcomes through the NACE Career Readiness Competencies.
Career Connected Learning Services
Career Success Workshops
Career success workshops are group-based career coaching sessions that support students with identifying their interest, skills and strengths and use them towards advancing their careers, finding success in college and overall confidence in their future. Career Success workshops are designed to be easily embedded into courses, student clubs, and affinity groups across CCD, and students are encouraged (but not required) to attend prior to networking events.
Networking Events
Here is where students and industry collide! Through carefully curated industry panels, or networking events students will get their chance to shine in front of industry employers who are looking to hire employees, interns and build meaningful relationships with CCD students who are entering the career force!
Skill Labs
Skills labs are events in which students will build necessary skills for career readiness including, but not limited to: Mock interviews, resume and cover letter writing, public speaking and learning projects with the support of industry members! Skill labs can be embedded into Networking events or a stand-alone service.
Career Events
Career events include Career Fairs, Resource Fairs and Recognition Events that the Career-Connected Learning program plans, participates in and/or collaborates with CCD Stakeholders, Community Partners and Tri-Institutional Auraria Colleges and Universities.
Tools and Resources
Career readiness is the foundation upon which a successful career is launched essentially being the new career currency! Career readiness provides a framework for addressing career-related goals and outcomes of curricular and extracurricular activities, regardless of the student’s field of study. There are eight NACE career readiness competencies, each of which can be demonstrated in a variety of ways.

Handshake is CCD Students go-to platform for discovering jobs, internships, and career events. It connects you directly with employers and opportunities tailored to your interests, helping you take the next step in your career journey.
Riipen is a work-based learning platform that connects students with real industry projects. It allows you to gain hands-on experience, build your portfolio, and collaborate with employers while still in the classroom.
