Community College of Denver (CCD) strives to provide a safe and healthy environment that supports your learning process. Each student and employee should be able to attend classes, work on campus, and/or participate in activities with a feeling that they are in a safe and secure environment.
The Auraria Campus Police are full-time, fully certified Colorado peace officers, dispatchers, and security officers. In addition to patrolling the campus regularly each day and night, they have put into place helpful procedures for campus-wide safety.

Note: Emergency messages may be issued by either the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) Alert System or directly by the Community College of Denver (CCD). The Lowry Campus has an emergency management system managed by CCCS (Colorado Community College System Office) and urgent messaging will come from their emergency system during an urgent event. The Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC Facility) may receive emergency communicate from the CCD Office of Emergency Management, or from their leadership directly.

The CCD Office of Emergency Management is dedicated to ensuring a safe, prepared, and resilient campus environment across all CCD locations. We work collaboratively with campus departments, Auraria Campus Police, and leadership to coordinate emergency planning, response, and recovery efforts.

Guidance and templates to help departments prepare for service disruptions or critical incidents. - Resource Coordination
Connection to city and state emergency resources during large-scale incidents or weather events.
