Dr. Marielena DeSanctis has been appointed Chancellor of the Colorado Community College System, becoming the first Latina to lead the state’s largest provider of higher education and workforce training.

CCD is the only Colorado institution chosen to join this important national initiative.

This announcement marks the beginning of a formal 14-day announcement period before any final decision is made, representing a significant milestone not only for Dr. DeSanctis, but for the entire CCD community.

The college's commitment to accessibility extends beyond scheduling, with comprehensive support services including career counseling, tutoring, and financial aid assistance.

Community College of Denver (CCD) held its Commencement celebration for the graduating class of 2025 on the Auraria Campus on a warm, sunny Thursday on May 15, 2025. CCD had over 450 graduates participate in Commencement and over 3,000 attendees.
