Colorado Manufacturing Day to Introduce Denver High Schoolers to Career Pathways in Manufacturing Industry
Metro Area Colleges Offer 3-Campus Tour of Manufacturing Career Opportunities

Community College of Denver (CCD), Emily Griffith Technical College (EGTC), and Metropolitan State University Denver (MSU Denver) will be showcasing cutting-edge advanced manufacturing training facilities in downtown Denver for high school and non-traditional students at the second annual CO Manufacturing Day on Friday, October 7th.

The 3-campus tour, will take registered Denver high school and non-traditional students, such as displaced workers, unemployed adults, etc., on tours of CCD’s Advanced Manufacturing Center, EGTC’s new Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory and MSU Denver’s 3D metal printer. The students will be introduced to industry degree and certification programs including certificates that can advance into a two-year associate’s degree in applied science and a four-year bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology.

Following the tours, students will enjoy lunch and the Made-in-Colorado Expo on the Auraria Campus, which will showcase products manufactured in Colorado and introduce the students to local manufacturing companies. The Expo takes place from 12:30-3pm in CCD’s Confluence Building, 800 Curtis Street, Denver. The Expo is free and open to the general public.

Manufacturing Day℠ is a national celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. Community College of Denver (CCD), Emily Griffith Technical College (EGTC), and Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) have partnered with Denver Public Schools, Denver Office of Economic Development, Goodwill Industries, Denver Workforce Services, Manufacturers Edge and Colorado Advanced Manufacturing Alliance to introduce the Denver community to explore manufacturing programs and career pathways on three college campuses.
