A Message from Dr. DeSanctis Regarding Shooting in Boulder
Dear CityHawks,
Today I am reminded of the fragility of life. The violence inflicted in our state this week deeply saddens me and I offer my sincere condolences to the families and friends of those lost in yesterday’s shootings.
While I am new to Colorado, I realize that our CCD community has students, faculty and staff that live in or near Boulder and today I mourn the senseless loss of life with them.
If you are grieving, I encourage you to reach out for support:
- Colorado Crisis Line: Call or text (TALK to 38255) 1.844.493.8255
- Students, please reach out to the CCD Counseling Center (303.352.6436)
- Faculty and staff, please reach out to Colorado State Employee Assistance Program (303.866.4314)
These are difficult times and it’s not just COVID-19 that’s a threat. Let’s all remember not to take today for granted.
Tomorrow is never promised, tell those you love that you love them today.
Respectfully,
Marielena DeSanctis, Ph.D., President
Community College of Denver
