A partner of CCD, Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) is committed to providing an effective, comprehensive, and supportive environment that facilitates the mission of Community College of Denver.
The Auraria Campus is also home to two four-year universities — Metropolitan State University of Denver and the University of Colorado Denver. This unique partnership creates a one-of-a-kind campus experience, allowing CCD students to participate in amazing extracurricular activities and access a university-caliber library, student union, recreation opportunities, and more.
The campus has a unique history, beginning with a gold strike near the site of the campus in 1858. CCD also has additional locations right in downtown Denver.

The curriculum is college preparatory, focusing on career and technical education by offering concurrent enrollment college classes. The career classes are an innovative way for high school students to earn academic credits towards a college degree or industry certification while completing DPS high school graduation requirements.
CEC Early College became an additional location to Community College of Denver in 2014. Concurrent enrollment and early college programs are administered through CCD's High School Connections office.
There are many parking options on campus, including short-term parking meters, surface lots with in-and-out accessibility, and parking garages. Additionally, AHEC offers a Handivan service, a NightRider option (if you are on campus after dark), and a motorist assistance program (if your battery dies or you have a flat tire).
The Denver public transportation system, RTD, has two light rail stations on campus, and many city bus routes have stops on or convenient to campus. With a valid campus ID and on-campus class schedule, CCD students can pick up the RTD CollegePass in the Tivoli Student Union, which includes unlimited rides on local, express, and regional services on the bus and light rail.
