Michelle Hoffer is the chair of the health and wellness program at CCD. Prior to becoming a full-time faculty member, Michelle was an adjunct instructor for several years at CCD. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist and holds a Master of Public Health Nutrition.
Currently, she teaches clinical and didactic dental hygiene courses, including nutrition, medical emergencies, ethics and dietary nutrition. She serves as vice chair on the faculty council and serves on the persistence and completion committee as well. She also services as advisory board member for the CCD dental hygiene program and was appointed by the House Committee and Senate to the Interim Therapeutic Restorations Advisory Committee for the State of Colorado.
Michelle is also an avid volunteer. She severs the community through various volunteer organizations such as Give Kids a Smile, COMOM, Colorado Symphony, Ride for Reading, and Impact 360.
Prior to joining CCD, Michelle worked in a full-time clinical practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She also worked as a health education and worksite wellness clinical instructor.
Michelle is an expert mountain bike racer for Colorado Women’s Cycling Project race team whose mission is to get more women to become more active in sports, especially bike riding. She loves to teach nutrition, enjoys the outdoors especially mountain biking and trail running, and also enjoys cooking amazing vegan food. She wants to inspire her students (and coworkers) to eat healthier and live longer through good nutrition and exercise.
