Alberto Teixeira

Alberto Teixeira comes to CCD from within the Colorado Community College System (CCCS). Most recently serving as the Senior Director for Budget, Business, and Procurement Services at Pikes Peak State College. Over the course of nearly 10 years with CCCS, he has served in many instructional and financial administrative roles, and still serves as a part-time instructor - teaching business, management, and marketing. 

Before finding his calling in higher education, Alberto served honorably in the United States Army as a non-commissioned Infantry officer, serving overseas for several years. Prior to his military service, Alberto worked in the private sector in financial management for a tri-state area construction firm. 

Alberto is a Colorado transplant, making Colorado his home after being stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT – Alberto’s family has a diverse background from both Portugal and Brazil. He is both the first generation of his family born in the Unites States and the first member of his family to pursue and earn degrees.  

His educational journey started at a community college, proudly earning an AGS degree at Housatonic Community College – his hometown school. Over time, he continued his educational journey through to graduate school at the University of Colorado. His passion for the missions of CCCS and CCD stems from his belief that education is transformative and the single greatest investment that we can make in ourselves. 

Alberto hopes to bring his passion for higher education to CCD and build collaborative relationships with all members of the City Hawk team. Joining the CCD team alongside Alberto: Sarah, Alberto’s wife of nearly 15 years and a CCCS alumni and Registered Nurse; Sofia, a 10-year-old future CCD student who wants to be a lawyer after being a teacher after being the President of the United States; and Gabriel a 3 month old future CCD student who is currently undecided on his future but has a special talent for making his mom and dad smile and keeping them up at night, sometimes.
