The studio arts, art appreciation and art history classes at CCD will help you embrace your creativity and focus it on an art-based career. Many talented artists have gone on to prestigious four-year institutions to continue their education and launch successful careers. Visual Arts classes at CCD are a perfect way to explore your creative options while earning a degree. You will find yourself drawing, painting, sculpting, designing, photographing and truly creating your future career in the arts.

Academic Support

CCD’s visual arts and multimedia graphic design programs are proud to offer open studio time.

Open studio allows you to work outside of your studio class times on projects (two-, three- and four-dimensional alike). We offer five different open studios: Painting, Drawing, 2-D and 3-D Design, Photography Lab, and a Multimedia Design Lab.

Open studios are staffed by experienced art and graphic design students who are there to support your learning.

Dates and times vary each semester, please contact the art department for details.

Academic support is also provided through the Excel Zone.

Available Online

CCD Online offers fully online certificates and degrees, and individual online courses to help match your busy schedule. This program offers 75 and 80 percent of its degree either online or through a hybrid program.

Your first step is to see if online learning is right for you. Online and hybrid environments offer much more flexibility but require more self-direction and self-discipline. Certain work habits, learning styles and skills contribute to a successful online or hybrid learning experience.
