Steps to Successful Enrollment

Thank you for your interest in the medical assistant program. Please follow the instructions below to submit your application with any accompanying forms.

In addition to the application to CCD, this program requires an secondary program application. Questions please call 303.365.8300. 

Program Instructions

Step 1. Enroll in CCD

If you haven’t done so yet, you must be a current CCD student to enroll in the medical assistant certificate program. The CCD application is free. Please select Medical Assisting Certificate as the certificate option when applying.

Step 2. Attend a Mandatory Information Session

You must attend a medical assistant information session. These will be held as online webinars and will require registration to attend.

  • To register for the information sessions, please email Shelly Halper, Chair of the Medical Assistant program, with your intent to attend and you will receive a confirmation email. Here is the link to the Information Session meeting.  
  • Individual counseling sessions with the Medical Assisting Chair to address specific needs can be scheduled at the student’s request by clicking on this link for an individual meeting.

Dates

  • MA Program Information sessions will take place on the first and third Wednesday of each month beginning February, 3rd 2021 at 4:00 p.m. MST. You only need to attend one.

Location

The information sessions will be delivered via online webinars.

Step 3. Submit Proof of Course Placement

You have several options to determine your placement in this program and we must have both English and math competency levels. Review the options you have to determine your course placement by visiting the Testing Center and reading the information on how to submit these documents on that webpage link. You can use ACT/SAT scores (taken within the past 5 years), Accuplacer exams for math and English, or official transcripts showing previous college-level math and English classes. You will also have the opportunity to upload a copy of your unofficial transcript into the application.

Step 4. Essay

You will be required to write a 500-word essay (single-spaced) addressing both of the following topics: 

  1. In what ways do you see yourself as a good fit for the Medical Assistant program?
  2. What are two recent changes in the US healthcare system that could affect Medical Assistants?

Step 5. Submit Documentation & Complete the Medical Assistant Application
