About Protectors

Written & Directed by Landin Melendez

Nancy is a 12-year old who is home schooled while her mother works on the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline at the height of the building controversy in the autumn of 2016. Lonely and interested in the mounting demonstration that she hears all day long, Nancy ventures out-of-doors and encounters a child her own age. Nancy's new friendship opens her heart and imagination to the growing conflict at the Standing Rock reservation. Soon the realities of an often greedy and cruel adult world bring her to a crossroads of choice.
