CCD is busy planning the Commencement Celebration for May 2021. COVID-19 might have stopped us from having a traditional ceremony... but that does not mean we won’t have fun!
This year we will be hosting a drive-through celebration on Thursday, May 13 on the Auraria campus. Graduates can either drive or walk through the event between 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Each graduate, along with any family/friends safely included in their vehicle, can drive through the celebration in one vehicle. We encourage you to decorate your vehicle to celebrate your accomplishment. We will have stations in the Holly Parking Lot across from Confluence Building where we will hand out graduation goodies, including a printed commencement program.
At the end of the procession, the graduate can briefly exit their vehicle to receive their diploma cover and pose for photos.
See diagram below at end of page.
Walk-in graduates can participate in the procession with up to 3 family members. They will assemble on the west side of the Holly Parking Lot.
There will also be a virtual ceremony available on CCD.edu beginning on May 13. This will include inspirational speeches, scrolling names of graduates from the commencement program and videos of well-wishes from faculty and staff. Grads are encouraged to privately gather safely with their family and friends for this celebration which will remain available online after May 13.
Your Student Government Association is proud to provide caps and gowns for 2020 and 2021 graduates. They will be available for walk-in pick up at the Confluence Building on the Auraria campus May 10 – 12 between 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. If you're anticipating pins, cords or stoles, please contact your student organization or program coordinator for more information.
Prior to visiting campus, always review and follow the Return-to-Campus Guidelines.
For accessibility accommodations, please contact the Accessibility Center CCD.Access@ccd.edu by Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
Please check back for additional information and further details as we approach the big day. As with all things this past year, plans are subject to change based on Colorado Department of Public Health & Education (CDPHE) guidelines.
We know if you choose to participate in the celebration, you’ll feel the CCD love and pride we have for you. Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.“ CityHawks, we know you are well-equipped to do just that!
Congratulations to all our graduates!
Please enter from 7th and Lawrence Streets.
