2015 Student Success Celebration

About Amir Windom

Amir Windom is highly regarded as one of the top record and entertainment executives and is praised as one of most creative minds of his generation.

Having worked at historic record labels, he has assisted in developing and managing careers of some of today’s biggest stars such as the band "fun," Pharrell, T.I., Bruno Mars, Lupe Fiasco, Madonna, B.o.B, Trey Songz, and Kanye West. Thus far, Amir has worked on numerous Grammy award-winning albums that have earned gold and/or platinum status.

Amir is a television and film music supervisor, where he has helped create music, scores, and creative strategies for

  • major film companies such as Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, LionsGate Films,
  • TV shows such as BET’s Being Mary Jane, SyFy's ALPHAS, HBO's Entourage, and
  • movies such as Despicable Me 2, Act Like A Lady Think Like A Man, Why Did I Get Married 2, TAKERS, SWAT 2, and Stomp The Yard 2.

He has also helped create marketing strategies for notable companies such as Kodak, Coca-Cola, and Adidas.

Windom been a featured speaker around the globe on numerous tours and at various colleges and universities, including University of Southern California (USC), South Africa Music and Entertainment Symposium, Radio One Music Summit, United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Empower Me Tour, SXSW Festival, Grammy Foundation, New York University (NYU). and Howard University.

He was given the prestigious “40/40” award by his alma mater Florida A&M. This award was given to alumni under the age of 40, who has made outstanding accomplishments within their career and community. Other notable awards: Who’s Who In Atlanta, Rolling Out Magazine’s 30 Under 30, Radio One Emerging Leading Award, Cleveland Music Festival Gaining & Giving Honor, 2008 Hip Hop Caucus Music & Philanthropy Award to name a few.  Some of his affiliates include: Grammy Foundation, Board Member-Bridge Da Gap, Member-Public Relations Society of America, Board Member-The Museum School, National Board Member of Endustry Power Players, Board Member-Hip Hop Institute and a member of the International Special Events Society, FAMU 40/40.
