Thomas H. Williams
Assistant Professor and Program Chair Thomas Williams teaches a variety of subjects within the criminal justice program. Some courses he has taught since he started teaching at CCD in 2010 are Intro to Criminal Justice, Correctional Process, Crime Scene Investigation, Judicial Functions, and Criminal Law.
In addition, he teaches Crime Prevention through Environmental Design, a process that teaches students to identify crime areas and tailor a program to reduce crime based on the design of the structure or area. In addition to teaching Thomas is co-chair of the diversity and inclusion council.
A former police officer for both the Little Rock, Arkansas and Aurora, Colorado police departments. Thomas has 30 years’ experience in law enforcement. During that time, he was a patrol officer, school resource office, community policing officer, bicycle patrol sergeant, community policing sergeant, and both major crimes and general crimes sergeant.
During his spare time, Thomas enjoys playing chess.
