Michael Mackey is the program chair and a professor of the humanities and philosophy programs and has taught at CCD since the fall of 1993. He holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English from Colorado State University, as well as a Master of Divinity from Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.
He teachings five distinct but inter-related disciplines: humanities, literature, philosophy, English, and history. In that aspect, he works to help students read, write and explore aspects of culture and history. In the second portion of his job, he leads an interdisciplinary program, working on logistical details in building schedules and ordering books. In this aspect, he mostly focuses on helping faculty be as effective as possible in their work with students.
Michael and his wife have been married for over 30 years and are proud parents of a daughter who is just about to graduate from high school and plans to attend CSU next year as a third generation Ram! Beyond that, Michael loves to travel, read, hike, fly fish and follow the Broncos.
