Helpful Financial Aid & Scholarship Tips

Time Management

Time management is a common problem for everyone, but as a student, there are other factors that need to be taken into consideration. Whether you are fresh out of high school or working and raising a family, everyone needs tips to stay on top of the game. Here are some tips that may help you:

  1. Write everything down and stay organized.  Even if you think you will remember a due date for an assignment for class, do not take a  chance on it. Also, go through your course calendar and syllabi and write down all important dates. Knowing what is coming up will help you prepare in advance.
  2. Use your phone for good and limit distractions. With so many distractions we have at our fingertips, learn to use your phone as a time management tool rather than a time-waster! There are apps that you can look at to help you set reminders or provide productivity tools. If you get tempted to check social media while studying, there are also apps to help block these distractions as well.
  3. Find balance. We all know times can get stressful. When those times do arise, it is important to step back and take a deep breath. Always remember that it is OK to ask for help when needed from family, friends and your school. Most schools have great resources so take advantage! Finding your balance is a key component to your success and happiness.
