In December, CCD’s Winter Wonderland Committee came together for its 4th annual Winter Wonderland celebration. The Winter Wonderland committee is comprised of staff from several different departments that are dedicated to providing our students with holistic support. Our Winter Wonderland event is just one of many projects that demonstrates our commitment to helping our students. We received a total of 48 referrals from CCD staff and faculty. We were able to accomplish our goal by cross-departmental communication that invited all CCD staff, including faculty, to join in and take part in our Winter Wonderland vision. This has resulted in 48 students and over 100 children that received gifts.
Take a look at some pictures from this event!
Greetings!

Commitment – Commit to fewer tasks and/or groups and be consistent, be realistic and honest with yourself since the start. It’s easy to be enthusiastic at the start of the semester, but when the months wear on and your workload becomes heavier, it gets easier to not go to that meeting or event. Try to avoid getting distracted from your commitments.
Reflection - Sitting in silence for at least 5 minutes a day to drown out noise and distraction of all types can help you reflect on how your day went, think about what to-dos are still lingering, and give your body a rest.
Reach out more to family and friends - When the semester gets hard and frustration kicks in, it’s easy to forget that reaching out to those we love can help relieve stress. Those we care about will love hearing your voice especially if you are away from home.
Make self- care a priority and see what difference it will make in your daily life!
