Hispanic Heritage Month | 2019 Film Festival

In honor of the Hispanic Heritage month and hosted by CCD's World Languages Department, come and see how fiction & reality mix with one another through film.

FILM FESTIVAL DATES

OCTOBER 30 - UN CUENTO CHINO (CHINESE TAKEAWAY) | CONFLUENCE BUILDING, ROOM 109 | 3:00 p.m.
  • About the film: A tragicomedy about the clash of two cultures. Roberto, a regimented Argentinian, finds Jun in the streets. Jun is Chinese, doesn't speak Spanish, and is looking for his uncle. How will two completely "opposite" cultures get along?
  • Guest Speakers: Jane Lim, Director of Confucius Institute at CCD, Xin Liu, Visiting Professor, Deputy Director, International Affairs Office from University of Jinan, Shandong, China, Jian Guatney, Professor of English as a Second Language at CCD, and Fan Jiang, Visiting Professor of Chinese, Jiangxi University of Technology

  1. Talk with your professor and see if you could use an old edition of the textbook.
