Information Technology is working to help Faculty / Instructors and Staff with remote access options. The IT Help Desk will continue to function as normal because we are all in this together! There are individuals out there that will attempt to take advantage of these situations. Please continue to be diligent and cautious about opening emails and attachments from unsolicited sources or clicking links that you’re not sure are legitimate. BE SKEPTICAL when you receive unsolicited emails, texts or other communications that you cannot validate (even if sent by someone you know). Check the source email address closely! Be extra careful when emails are coming from external sources. Please continue to report possible Phishing or other scams to the Help Desk. We’re happy to review any of these things to verify if they are legitimate!

Many users will not have access to the H: drive data while off-campus. Instructors can copy teaching materials from their H: drive to Office 365 OneDrive so it can be accessed outside of the CCD network. Please avoid putting student data there.
Staff can do the same with files that they may need to work with while off-campus. If you’re working with files containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII), please avoid using OneDrive for that purpose. The IT department can help you think through the best way to work with this data. Please contact the Help Desk if you have questions about how to move data to OneDrive.
During this time, we will be doing things differently, but please remember that we still need to be conscious of protecting student information and other sensitive information. Sensitive Information and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) should remain protected in systems that are already established with security. Please do not copy student data off of G: and H: drives, Banner, D2L. It’s always best to work with student data in the systems that are protecting that information. It’s not safe to email or “Jabber” student data even within the CCD system. This event does not excuse us from protecting student (and employee) personal data. Please contact IT if you’re unsure about the security of the information you’re working with. We will be happy to help you work out better ways to work with sensitive information.
If you are working with PII or sensitive data please work with your supervisor to request remote access to those systems. IT will help you figure out a solution for you to access systems, such as Banner, G: and H: drives, and CCD Custom Apps.
