2021 Oxygen for Education Scholarship Breakfast Breaks All Records!
Thanks to our generous donors and sponsors, a record-breaking $145,000 was raised for scholarships at this year’s scholarship fundraising event! In an unusually difficult year for CCD students, this support makes a huge difference. We also met one of our dollar-for-dollar gift matches announced during the event - the one for $10,000 for scholarships for immigrant students!
While we missed seeing everyone in person, we are grateful for this outpouring of support that provides a vital lifeline to students as they strive to achieve their educational goals and lifelong dreams.
With the pandemic still a major factor in our community, the CCD Foundation will continue its focus on supporting students with scholarships, emergency assistance, and laptops for remote classwork. Over $110,000 has already been distributed to students impacted by COVID. In addition, we are pleased to receive several recent grants from local foundations to support outreach to individuals in our community displaced from their jobs by COVID-19 and former students who had to "stop-out" due to the pandemic.
A special thank you to our premiere sponsors the Organization of Chinese Americans and Hide in Plain Sight. Both of these incredible organizations have committed to helping CCD students in the 2021-2022 academic year.

It’s 2021 Tax Season – Hey you! Just imagine the good you can do!
In 2021, Coloradoans who receive a state income tax refund will have a chance to donate some or all of it to a local nonprofit. Imagine if state taxpayers chose to donate just a portion of their refunds to their favorite cause? The outpouring of support would re-energize local community causes across Colorado!
Refund Colorado shows you how you can directly support a local nonprofit that is doing important work in your community. If you expect a state income tax refund, this new program puts you in control of deciding to donate some or all of it and choosing exactly which Colorado-registered charity will directly benefit.
This is such a convenient way to make a gift to the CCD Foundation. Imagine the good you can do! And it’s as easy as 1-2-3!
- Decide how much of your refund to donate to the CCD Foundation.
- Enter Community College of Denver Foundation and our registration number (45-3784543) in the Donate to a Colorado Nonprofit Fund line on your state income tax return or tax software, or just give this information to your tax preparer along with your tax documents.
- Smile! You are supporting students determined to improve their lives and futures in our local community.
And if you have never donated before, your gift will be matched up to $20,000!
