Denver Safer at Home Public Health Order

CityHawks,

I am writing to you today to provide an update on the latest public health guidelines from the City and County of Denver.

Yesterday, Denver moved to Level 3 Safer at Home health orders with new guidelines. Mayor Michael B. Hancock made an announcement in response to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Denver.

Community College of Denver (CCD) has implemented health and safety protocols, including operating with reduced, in-person hours in various departments, to ensure our community’s safety. Here is how these new orders will impact our locations:

  • Instruction: CCD classes that are being conducted remotely will continue to do so with no changes. In-person classes will continue with the potential for individual class changes - you will be notified by your faculty member if your in-person class will undergo change.
  • One-Stop Center: Most of CCD’s offices have been operating remotely. The departments that have been providing in-person services may see in-person hours reduced. Stay tuned to CCD.edu/Office-Hours in the coming days for updates. While the amount of in-person hours/services may be reduced, CCD remains available to assist you both virtually and in-person.
  • Building Hours and Access: There will be no changes to building hours or access in response to the public health order. However, please continue to complete your Covid-19 health check (covidcheck.ccd.edu) each day before you visit any of our locations and be sure to wear your ID badge and have it available upon check-in when you enter our buildings, regardless of campus.

Our campus community has done an excellent job in keeping COVID under control at CCD and I thank you for your diligence.

While I know many of us are dealing with “COVID fatigue”, I encourage all of us to remain diligent and continue to follow all health and safety guidance, including wearing facial coverings, social distancing of at least 6-feet, and washing your hands.

Thank you for staying the course and remaining flexible as we find our way through these new health guidelines.

Please continue to check your student email or visit ccd.edu for the latest information.

Sincerely,
Everette
