I am writing to update you on operations at Community College of Denver (CCD) after the City and County of Denver issued its “Home by 10” order on Friday, November 6th. This order prohibits all public and private gatherings of people who are not members of a single household except for the operation of critical businesses, which includes universities/colleges and their academic and research activities.
Fortunately, due to our advance planning for a limited return to campus and limitation of in-person activities, this order does not affect CCD’s current operations. We must; however, continue to ensure face coverings are always worn, social distancing and spacing are maintained, and daily electronic health checks continue for those visiting our campus locations.
The only courses currently held on our campuses are those where in-person learning is essential. Students may continue to come to campus to receive instruction, study, and access resources. Information about our current COVID cases is published in our COVID dashboard at CCD.edu/COVID.
It is critical that we, as individuals, continue to play a supportive role in our community by wearing our masks and avoiding close, social interactions outside of our households to ensure our local healthcare system is not overwhelmed in the coming weeks and months with COVID-19 cases.
CCD leadership continues to meet on a regular basis to discuss the status of the public health orders, the cases of COVID-19 at our College, and how to maintain safety in our community and activities. We continue to monitor the situation and will be in touch with updates and changes as they occur.
Stay safe and thank you for continuing to adhere to our safety protocols.
