How Will You Give Back This Year?

Here are a few options for you to impact CCD students or some a local family.

Whether you buy a child a toy or donate money, food, or clothing to your local shelters, we can all do something small to give back to our community throughout the year — especially during the Season of Sharing.

If each of us did just one thing, the outreach would be phenomenal! Here's a list of local holiday giving programs to show you how you can reach out, do some good, and join in to make an impact.

Auraria Shares | Ends December 12th

Join in on this nearly 20-year-old tradition of gift giving to those in need. The faculty and staff on the Auraria Campus are encouraged to participate.

CCD Foundation | Give All Year

You Shop. Amazon Gives. Before you shop online this year for your holiday gifts, sign up for the Amazon Smile program. With each purchase, Amazon will give .5% of your total to the CCD Foundation! It's a super easy way to give directly to CCD students through scholarships.

Food Pantry Donations | Give All Year

Are you uncertain if giving to CCD Food Pantry does any good? Check out this article by the Colorado Independent, titled, "In time of plenty, students on Colorado campuses are hungry; College food pantries are now common, as skyrocketing rents and tuition force many kids to skip meals." CCD's food pantry servers 100 students a semester and students who are fed do better academically. Help us help our students by donating to the CCD.edu/Food-Pantry.

How to Donate

Donations of non-perishable food or personal hygiene items are appreciated and accepted at any time during office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.). Stop by the Office of Student Life in the Tivoli Student Union, room 309 with your donations of non-perishable food, hygiene items or hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves.

Local Colorado Food Banks

Off campus, the City of Denver and the State of Colorado also offer several services to assist with food needs. View a full list of nearby Colorado food banks that serve the whole community.
