Take personal responsibility for your success by taking positive action that remedies barriers and takes advantage of opportunities.

Inserting Citations Using Microsoft Word
When completing a research paper, you must provide a citation for any direct quote or paraphrase used in your work. You may use style guides to properly format your in-text citations and reference page. Or, use Microsoft Word to automatically insert citations into your research paper. (This video uses Word 2007.)

Students and staff from TRIO Student Support Services at Community College of Denver spend a day volunteering on an ecological restoration project at Bear Creek Lake Park.

TRIO Habitat for Humanity 2012
TRIO students participate in a service-learning project with Habitat for Humanity. Not only is it a fun day, but it adds to students' resumes by building leadership and communication skills.

TRIO Transfer & Cultural Tour – Durango
Twelve students from the TRIO SSS program at Community College of Denver traveled across Colorado to learn about the academic, cultural, geographical, and historical opportunities available to them.

TRIO Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Day 2011
TRIO students and staff volunteer at Habitat for Humanity sites throughout the year. The mission of Habitat is to provide affordable housing for lower-income families through volunteer labor and material donations. Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity is a powerful experience for a student to list on a resume or personal statement for scholarships, university admissions, and jobs.

TRIO Transfer & Cultural Tour - New Mexico
In May 2011, TRIO traveled to southern Colorado and New Mexico with a group of nine students in order to explore the academic, social, cultural, and geographical opportunities to the south of Denver. The group toured three different transfer options: Colorado State University-Pueblo, University of New Mexico, and Adams State College. In addition, the students engaged in experiential learning opportunities: exploring the Albuquerque Biopark, touring the oldest city in America (Santa Fe), and hiking through inclement weather in Great Sand Dunes National Park.
