Even More Scholarships!

Thanks to generous donors, the Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges offers several scholarship opportunities for eligible students. By completing the Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges scholarship application, you may be considered for several scholarships. This application will automatically qualify you for the scholarships for which you are eligible, including the Stone Family Foundation Endowed Scholarship, the Thomas T. Grimshaw Endowed Scholarship, the Credit Union of Colorado Scholarship, and the Audrey D. and Harvey D. Rothenberg Scholarship.

The application process for 2018-2019 academic year scholarships has closed.
The application for 2019-2020 scholarships will open in early 2019 and the deadline to submit an application will be in April 2019.

Stone Family Foundation Endowed Scholarship

Established by The Stone Family Foundation in 2012, this fund provides need-based scholarships to students who are either attending or planning to attend a Colorado Community College System institution. Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, required supplies and any other costs to fully meet your unmet financial need.

Beginning in the 2018-2019 academic year, scholarships of up to $5,000 will be awarded, with award amounts determined based on your unmet need and total funds available.

Requirements, Terms & Conditions

  • Be enrolled full-time or part-time
  • Demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress at CCD
  • Accept the scholarship’s terms & conditions through Academic Works by Census Day
  • Write a “thank you” letter and upload it through Academic Works by Census Day
  • Attend the CCD Foundation’s Breakfast of Champions or Community Service Day

Students who previously received Stone Family Foundation scholarships are eligible to apply for renewed scholarship funding, even if enrolled less than half-time. Scholarship renewals are not guaranteed and depend on funding, your application, and your status with your respective program.

Thomas T. Grimshaw Endowed Scholarship

The Thomas T. Grimshaw Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2009 in honor of Mr. Grimshaw’s longtime advocacy on behalf of the Colorado Community College System and his distinguished service on both the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education and the Foundation for Colorado Community College Board of Directors. This fund provides need-based scholarships that can be used for tuition, fees, books and required supplies.

Requirements, Terms & Conditions

  • Applicants must intend to pursue a certificate or degree (A.A., A.S., A.G.S., or A.A.S.) at Community College of Denver
  • Be enrolled in at least a half academic load each semester (minimum 6 credit hours)
  • Have achieved an overall high school or college GPA of 2.0 to apply. And, must maintain a 2.5 GPA each semester during the scholarship year
  • Be a Colorado resident
  • Demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA

Credit Union of Colorado Scholarship

Each year the Credit Union of Colorado, in conjunction with the Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges, offers scholarships to seven students who are members of the Credit Union of Colorado and are pursuing their education at one of the thirteen Community College of Colorado System colleges. Scholarships are available for both full-time and part-time students.

Requirements, Terms & Conditions

  • Applicants must be a member of the Credit Union of Colorado
  • Intend to participate in a degree, certificate or transfer program at CCD
  • Be enrolled in at least a half academic load each semester (minimum 6 credit hours)
  • Demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA
  • Be a United States citizen or have permanent residency

Students who receive Credit Union of Colorado scholarships are eligible to apply for renewed scholarship funding, provided they have maintained a GPA of at least 2.5. Scholarship renewals are not guaranteed and depend on funding, your application, and your status with your respective program.

Audrey D. and Harvey D. Rothenberg Scholarship

Established by Audrey D. and Harvey D. Rothenberg in 2016, one annual scholarship is awarded to a non-traditional student who is either attending or planning to attend a Colorado Community College System institution.

Requirements, Terms & Conditions

  • Applicants must intend to participate in a degree, certificate or transfer program at Community College of Denver
  • Be a non-traditional student
