CCD Scholarships

There are more than $1,000,000 available in scholarships each year at CCD!

There are many scholarships at CCD that offer you free financial assistance for college. They may require you to meet certain qualifications. Please read the information provided here on each of our scholarships and apply today! Call our office with any questions you might have or stop by for free scholarship assistance in the Confluence Building, room 118 on Wednesdays, 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Alumni Scholarship

The Alumni Scholarship is funded through the CCD Foundation with dues from CCD Alumni Association members and funds from the ONE CCD Employee giving campaign. This scholarship celebrates the success and perseverance of CCD Alumni, and their commitment to  "pay it forward" to help current CCD students to achieve their educational goals. 

To Qualify You Must

  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits hours per semester
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Be pursuing a degree/certificate
  • Demonstrate financial need by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress at CCD
  • Write a thank you letter

ABC Scholarship

The ABC Scholarship is funded jointly through CCD and the CCD Foundation to incent students with a minimum of 36 credits completing their ASCENT year to attend CCD and complete their associate degree within one year. Students must take 12 credits (unless less are required in final term for degree completion) and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75. Graduate with little or no debt! American GI Forum - 5281 Chapter Scholarship Fund

The American GI Forum (AGIF) Chapter 5281 Scholarship is a matching scholarship offered by the CCD Foundation. The AGIF 5281 Chapter provides information and support for Hispanic Veterans and motivates those interested in education, scholarships, and post-secondary educational opportunity.

To Qualify You Must

  • Be a US military veteran
  • Be a US citizen or legal resident
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Be pursuing a degree/certificate
  • Demonstrate financial need by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress at CCD
  • Agree to attend/meet with CCD Foundation or scholarship donors as needed
  • Write a thank you letter

Anschutz Foundation Scholarship

The Anschutz Scholarship offered by the CCD Foundation is provided through a matching grant with the Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges. The Anschutz Foundation created the scholarship to assist students who demonstrate financial aid, attend school full time and plan to transfer to a four-year institution.

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at CCD or intend to transfer to a four-year institution
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD
  • Agree to attend/meet with CCD Foundation or Scholarship donors as needed
  • Write a thank you letter

Assistance League of Denver Scholarship

The Assistance League of Denver offered by the CCD Foundation is awarded to CCD students based on financial need and academic performance. Preference is given to single, working parents who are making a better life for themselves and their children. 

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at CCD
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credits
  • Maintain a 2.75 GPA
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD
  • Meet with a representative from the Assistance League
  • Agree to attend/meet with CCD Foundation or scholarship donors as needed
  • Write a thank you letter

CCD Community Scholarship

The CCD Community Scholarship rewards students for accessing the services that increase their likelihood to succeed in higher education. This scholarship provides access and opportunity to traditionally underrepresented students from diverse backgrounds to advance their educational goals. Qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Students with Disabilities
  • Multi-Racial / Ethnic Students
  • Veterans
  • Single Parents
  • GED Recipients
  • Students Who Qualify as Orphans or Who Have Been in Foster Care
  • Homeless Students

The Oneta E. Hollowell Memorial ECE Scholarship

The Oneta E. Hollowell Memorial ECE scholarship offered by the CCD Foundation was established in memory on Oneta E. Hollowell by her son, Roman who continues to fund the scholarship. Oneta received her associate degree from the ECE program at CCD and was the owner/director of a daycare center, allowing her work with children to impact countless lives. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be certificate or degree-seeking in the Early Childhood Elementary program.

To Qualify You Must

  • Single parent
  • Major in Early Childhood Education program at CCD
  • Enroll in at least 6 credit hours
  • Be resident of Colorado for tuition purposes
  • Demonstrate financial need by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled in 6 credits at CCD’s Auraria Campus
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic progress at CCD
  • Write a thank you letter
  • Attend the CCD Foundation Breakfast of Champions annual event and meet with CCD Foundation or scholarship donors as needed
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA

Child Care Scholarship | Based on Financial Need

CCD has allocated funds to be used for child care assistance for low-income families.

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Complete application and required documents
  • Be enrolled in 6 credits at CCD’s Auraria Campus
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA

College Success Scholarship

The College Success Scholarship (CSS) assists freshman, low- to middle-income students with academic preparation and financial aid planning to help them stay in school and graduate using existing resources at CCD. For students meeting CSS criteria, the award will be renewable for subsequent years at $2,000 per year through completion of their first program.

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at CCD
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits
  • Meet with your assigned program advisor
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA
  • Must participate in a CCD support program
  • Must attend a Financial Literacy Workshop

Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI)

The COSI scholarship offered by the CCD Foundation is provided through a matching grant through the Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges to assist certificate or degree-seeking students in completing their post-secondary education.

 To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (250% PELL)
  • Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at CCD
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credits
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD
  • Agree to attend/meet with CCD Foundation or scholarship donors as needed
  • Write a thank you letter

Daniels Fund Boundless Opportunity Scholarship | Amount Varies Based on Financial Need & Funds Available

The Boundless Opportunity Scholarship (BOS), offered by the CCD Foundation is provided by the Daniels Fund and is designed to support non-traditional students- adult learners, Veterans, and juvenile justice youth who recognize the value of an education in creating a better life for themselves and their families. 

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Be a resident of Colorado for tuition purposes
  • Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at CCD
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA
  • Attend one study session per month
  • Participate in a CCD support program
  • Participate in Opportunity Scholars Community Service Projects
  • Attend a minimum of one campus-wide activity
  • Have earned a high school diploma or have passing GED scores for college entry
  • Agree to attend/meet with CCD Foundation or scholarship donors as needed
  • Write a thank you letter

Displaced Aurarian Scholarship | Equal to Tuition & Fees for Six Credits up to Eight Semesters

The Displaced Aurarian Scholarship program is designed to provide funds for tuition and fees for students who were residents of the Auraria neighborhood at the time that the campus was first built, between 1955 and 1973. The program also extends to the children and grandchildren of these residents. Students who plan on transferring to a four-year institution on the Auraria Campus need to contact that institution to see if they meet the criteria for the Displaced Aurarian Scholarship.

To Qualify You Must

  • Provide proof you or your parent or grandparent resided in the Auraria neighborhood between 1955-1973
  • Not be in default on a student loan or owe money to CCD, the state of Colorado, or the U.S. Department of Education
  • Be a Colorado Resident
  • Be Colorado Opportunity Fund Eligible
  • Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at CCD
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD

Excellence Scholarship

The Excellence Scholarship is designed to recruit and retain some of Denver’s highest-achieving students, including incoming freshmen, sophomores, and transfer students.

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at CCD
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits
  • Meet with your assigned program advisor
  • Maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD
  • Participate in a CCD support program
  • Attend a Financial Literacy Workshop

The Francie Anhut Scholarship

The Francie Anhut Scholarship offered by the CCD Foundation is an endowed scholarship ($1,000/year offered in perpetuity) created to assist students with demonstrated financial need, who maintain academic progress, take a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate a strong commitment to volunteer work and community service. If qualified, the same student may receive this scholarship for up to three years. 

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Pursuing a degree/certificate
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to volunteer work and community service
  • Attend the CCD Foundation Breakfast of Champions event and meet with scholarship donors as needed
  • Read and accept the scholarship terms and conditions through Academic Works
  • Write a thank you letter

The New Generation Scholarship

The New Generation Scholarship is designed to assist and provide support to students who are the first in their family to earn an undergraduate degree. 

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at CCD
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD

Health Science Scholarship | $1,000 per Academic Year

The Health Care Scholarship is designed to support students who are accepted and enrolled in a Health Care Program at CCD.

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be admitted into a health care program of study at CCD
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA

Herbert and Judy Paige Foundation Scholarship | Half Tuition, Books & Fees

Funded through the CCD Foundation, the Herbert and Judy Paige Scholarship assists students in STEM (Science, Technology, Education, Math) or business programs who intend to transfer to pursue a four-year degree.

To Qualify You Must

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Be a Colorado resident for tuition purposes
  • Not previously received a degree (associate or bachelor)
  • Enrolled in a degree program at CCD, with a preference for health science programs, education, engineering and business programs
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester, though the CCD Foundation criteria is to fund full-time students to maximize the benefit
  • Demonstrate financial need by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or as determined by an estimated family contribution (EFC) of up to 200% of Federal Pell Eligibility
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA or Higher
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD
  • Write a thank you letter
  • If selected to receive this scholarship, you will be required to accept and submit the following: 1) Submit a letter at the completion of each semester and prior to the start of the new semester, discussing the impact of the scholarship on your life and your experience in college for that semester 2) Prior to your first semester, provide a digital image of yourself 3) Attend the CCD Foundation Breakfast of Champions event and meet with the CCD Foundation or scholarship donor as needed 4) complete the Authorization to Release Contact Information.

Housing Scholarship | Based on Need

The Housing Scholarship was designed to be used for student housing assistance upon funding availability. Students from low-income families who need housing assistance should apply.

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits at CCD's Auraria Campus
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD

IME Becas| Varies

The IME Becas offered by the CCD Foundation through a grant in partnership between superate Y Triunfa and the Association of Mexican Entrepreneurs was established to support low income, first generation students whose family is in America from Mexico. Students must demonstrate financial aid need, maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 and sign up with a CCD Resource Center specialist.

  • Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at CCD or intend
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD

  • Write a thank you letter

KEYS Scholarship

The KEYS scholarship is for displaced homemakers, regardless of gender, marital status, or reason for the loss of familial support, including divorce, death or disability.

To Qualify You Must

  • Have provided unpaid household services for family members in the home for a substantial number of years
  • Not be gainfully employed
  • Have had, or would have, difficulty finding employment
  • Be dependent on the income of a family member and have lost that income; OR dependent on government assistance as the parent of dependent children, but is no longer eligible for assistance or will soon exhaust the assistance because the minor children are within two years of reaching age 18

Kingdom Enlightenment Fund Scholarship

The Kingdom Enlightenment Scholarship offered by the CCD Foundation assists students with financial need.

To Qualify You Must

  • Either be a graduating high school senior with the intent to maintain a GPA of 2.5 or have graduated from a Colorado high school within the last five years
  • Demonstrate financial need by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Maintain a Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD
  • Agree to attend/meet with CCD Foundation or scholarship donors as needed
  • Write a thank you letter

Mel Carter Art Scholarship

The Mel Carter Art Scholarship offered by the CCD Foundation was created through an endowment established upon the death of a former fine arts professor, Mel Carter. The scholarship is awarded to an exemplary fine arts student selected by CCD faculty.

Open Door Scholarship Fund

The Open Door Scholarship Fund offered by the CCD Foundation was created to increase opportunities for undocumented, ASSET and DACA students to access higher education and build better lives. The "Open Door Scholarship Fund" intends to build support for students who are committed to achieving an associate degree and transferring to a four-year institution.

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits
  • Maintain a 2.75 GPA
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD
  • Meet with your assigned advisor
  • Agree to attend/meet with CCD Foundation or scholarship donors as needed
  • Participate in a CCD support program
  • Attend a Financial Literacy Workshop
  • Write a thank you letter

Stone Family Foundation Scholarships

The Stone Family Foundation provides scholarships to deserving students with personal income above the Pell threshold.

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at CCD or intend to transfer to a four-year institution
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD
  • Agree to attend/meet with CCD Foundation or scholarship donors as needed
  • Write a thank you letter

WIN Veteran Scholarship

Funded through the CCD Foundation, the WIN Veteran Scholarships provides scholarships to Military Veterans, honorably discharged to assist them in gaining workforce skills.

To Qualify You Must

  • Demonstrate financial need by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled in one of the following certificates/programs: pre-engineering, welding, accounting, business technology (including administrative assistant, general office assistant and office manager)
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • Be a Military Veteran, honorably discharged (you are required to provide DD214)
  • Be enrolled in the WIN Program.
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at CCD
  • Agree to attend/meet with CCD Foundation or scholarship donors as needed
  • Write a thank you letter
