Grand Stage Walk:

  • Each graduate will grace the stage, symbolizing your academic journey.

Graduation Block Party

  • Graduation Portraits: After your stage walk, relish the opportunity to have your official graduation portrait taken, immortalizing the elegance of your achievement.
  • Block Party Extravaganza: Join the jubilation at the Block Party, celebrating your triumph with fellow graduates, faculty, family, and friends.

Engage and Celebrate at Grad Fair

  • Caps and Gowns: Available for pickup on a couple of days before the big day. Keep an eye on the schedule.
  • For cords, stoles, or pins: You will contact your student organization or program coordinator.
  • Express Your Creativity: Decorate your grad cap at the Grad Fair.

Navigating Your Graduation Journey at Community College of Denver

Embarking on your graduation journey is a significant step, and at the Community College of Denver, we're here to guide you through the process. Let's make your path to commencement clear, accessible, and successful.

 

Major Acceptance:

Confirm acceptance into a program of study (major) at CCD. Check with your academic advisor or utilize Degree Check on CCDConnect to ensure you're on the right track.

Credit Requirements:

  • Fulfill credit hour requirements:
    15 credit hours for a degree or 25 percent of your certificate.
    Minimum 60 credit hours for a degree; certificate requirements may vary.
  • Academic Performance:
    Maintain a grade of "C" or better in each course.
    Address any incomplete or satisfactory progress grades promptly; submit grade changes to the Office of Registration and Records within two weeks after the semester ends.
  • Name Verification:
    Confirm that the name on your diploma aligns with your current school records. If there's a change, submit a Change of Information Form to the Office of Registration and Records (Confluence Building, room 144).
  • Transcript Evaluation:
    If you have credits from a previous institution, ensure the Office of Registration and Records (Confluence Building, room 114) receives your official transcripts before submitting the Graduation Application Form.
  • Credit for Prior Learning:
    Students seeking Credit for Prior Learning should complete all required paperwork with the Academic Advising and Student Success Center (Confluence Building, room 123).
  • Additional Program Requirements:
    Check the catalog for any unique requirements within your specific program of study.

Complete the Graduation Application form to officially signal your readiness to graduate.

Once approved to graduate, we invite you to partake in CCD's annual commencement ceremony held in mid-May. This celebration honors graduates from the previous summer, fall, and spring semesters.
