CCD's Accessibility Center is happy to serve our students with disabilities. With our assistance, you’ll find resources, helpful specialists, assistive technology training and lab use, note-taker and test-taking assistance, as well as other helpful tools.

Helpful Steps to Get Started

  1. Complete an intake form for the Accessibility Center.
  2. Provide appropriate documentation of your disability.
  3. Register for classes. Your academic advisor can help you decide which classes to register for each semester. You may also utilize Degree Works to make course selection on CCD Connect.
  4. Request accommodations from your Accessibility Specialist each semester by filling out the “accommodation request form.”
  5. Pick up letters of accommodation to bring to each of your instructors to deliver during their office hours.
  6. Attend follow up appointments recommended for you.
  7. Contact your Accessibility Specialist with any concerns.

After the Intake

After you have completed the “intake” process, be sure to take these next steps:

  • Provide our office with appropriate documentation of your disability. Your Accessibility Specialist will discuss what type of documentation is needed. 
  • Register for classes. Your academic advisor can help you decide which classes to register for each semester. You may also utilize Degree Works to make course selection on CCD Connect.
  • Request accommodations from your Accessibility Specialist each semester.
  • Pick up letters of accommodation from the front desk to bring to each of your instructors.
  • Follow up with referral appointments to Assistive Technology or Alternate Media specialists.
  • Contact your Accessibility Specialist with any later concerns.
