Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center at CCD strives to provide quality academic support to all students enrolled in CCD courses. Professional tutors are available in each center five days a week during the semester: ESL, Math, Physics and Writing. Student support assistants are also present to assist you with computer access, navigating D2L, Microsoft Office, and requesting a tutoring session.

Math Center

Writing Center

Writing Center tutors will work with you to:

  • Clarify assignments, brainstorm ideas
  • Get an experienced reader’s response and receive constructive feedback
  • Organize and develop your paper
  • Learn revision and editing strategies
  • Use and properly cite outside sources
  • Find reference texts: some ENG 121 & 122 classes & grammar guides, as well as headphones
  • Use these handouts to address a variety of writing questions

The Walk-in Writing Center at Confluence offers CCD students free 25- to 30-minute one-on-one sessions for all types of writing. No appointment necessary!

Auraria Library

The Writing Center at Auraria Library offers 50-minute appointments with tutors from CCD, UCD and MSU Denver. Please visit CU Denver Writing Center website to set up a profile and schedule appointments. Be sure to select Auraria Library: Denver Campus from the dropdown menu. Located on the first floor in the "Knowledge Market" - feel free to check at the “ASK US” desk if you need help.

Online Tutoring

Brainfuse is a free online tutoring service accessible through a link from Desire2Learn (D2L). It is available to all CCD students. Tutors can assist with all levels of math, all writing assignments, and many other subjects. A tutor will respond with comments within 12 hours of submission for essays. All students receive 8 hours per semester of tutoring through Brainfuse.
