Earn Your High School Equivalency Diploma

CCD’s Foundational Skills Institute offers classes to help you earn a high school equivalency diploma and transition to college and career training programs. Our classes cover reading, math, social studies, science, and career pathways. You will work with instructors and FSI staff to balance life, work, and school to create a realistic picture of your path forward. Students should plan to be in class for at least 6 hours a week and attend a minimum of two terms.

Class Times

Our classes meet twice a week for three hours per class for 10 weeks.

Class time and location will be determined during enrollment.

Mornings 9:00 AM - NOON 9:00 AM - NOON
Evenings 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Class Locations

Community College of Denver partners with Mi Casa Resource Center, The Gathering Place, Denver Housing Authority, and Denver Indian Center. Classes are offered at on the Auraria Campus and partner locations in surrounding neighborhoods.

Class Fees & Continuation

An enrollment fee of $75 is required at orientation. (Official high school equivalency tests are not included). Students who leave the program for more than 90 days must re-enroll and pay the $75 enrollment fee to re-enter the program.

Class Enrollment

Class terms are 10 weeks, and the program runs year-round. Terms begin in January, April, July, and October.  Enrollment is limited and students must sign up in advance. Prior to beginning classes, you are expected to complete three enrollment steps:  

STEP 1: Attend an Orientation.
STEP 2: Take Assessments in Reading and Mathematics
STEP 3: Attend a Welcome Session.
