Program of Study

In one semester, you can develop the skills necessary to be employed as a phlebotomist. We are currently accepting applications for the Spring semester, which begins on January 16, 2024. Applications submitted after January 9 will be considered for the Fall 2024 semester.

The phlebotomy certificate provides hands-on training to develop the entry-level skills necessary to be employed as a phlebotomist. This one-semester program includes a lecture-lab environment with state-of-the-art simulation software and an internship in a clinical placement site. Our training prepares you for industry certification with the National Health Careers Association to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician.

Upon acceptance into the phlebotomy classes, please plan to attend one of the mandatory phlebotomy orientations prior to the start of classes. The orientation date/time will be shared with students upon acceptance to the program. Classes will be held on the Auraria campus.

Accreditation

Our training prepares you for industry certification with the National HealthCareers Association to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician.

Financial Aid Eligibility

This program is not eligible for federal student aid.

Internships & Service Learning Opportunities

Externship schedules during the second 7 weeks of the semester will be dependent upon assignment and internship site schedule.

Stackable

The Phlebotomy program is a certificate program that prepares students for industry certification in their field. The Phlebotomy program may also be used to fulfill elective requirements towards the A.A.S. in Medical Assisting program as a stackable certificate pathway.
