About the Program

BootUp Camps intends to cultivate the next generation of business leaders from an unexpected source. BootUp Camps are innovative STEM-based accelerator programs funded by the Colorado Community College System and organized by CCD's Associate Professor Lynn Wilson of Business & Entrepreneurship and founder of SparqU. Below is a list of all of our camps. Dig in and sign up!

BootUp Camp for Entrepreneurs | 8 Weeks

Entrepreneur BootUp, aimed at entrepreneurial-minded high school and community college students, is an eight-week program that combines interactive classroom sessions and exercises with a variety of resources, expert guest speakers, attendance at a Denver Startup Week event, and peer based networking. Participants will learn how to put together a strategic plan for starting, sustaining, and showcasing their project or business idea alongside like-minded entrepreneurs.

PC Troubleshooting | 1-Day Intensive

In this one-day intensive BootUp Camp experience, you'll learn all the basics of IT repair and troubleshooting, launching you into the A+ certification class with confidence. Run by a professor of information technology at Community College of Denver, a feat other bootcamps cannot match. Topics covered: hardware concepts, PF fundamentals, software compatibility, multimedia platforms, system board, networking, memory management, mobile repair.

Fabrication Friday | 1-Day Intensive

Come see CCD's cutting-edge advanced manufacturing training facility in downtown Denver! We are seeking high school and non-traditional students, such as displaced workers, unemployed adults, etc., to go on a hands-on tour of CCD’s Advanced Manufacturing Center. This is a new opportunity for you to get into a welding booth, learn about machining, and see if you have what it takes to be a technician from our highly trained staff.

BootUp Camp for A+ Certification Prep | 5 Weeks

Start your IT career on the right foot with CompTIA A+ certification training. Earning A+ certification demonstrates that you possess the skills necessary to support enterprise IT infrastructures. You’ll gain foundational knowledge of today’s most relevant technologies, so you can confidently conduct the tasks necessary to maintain your organization’s IT environment. In addition to preparing for the CompTIA A+ Essentials (220-901) and Practical Application (220-902) exams — required for CompTIA A+ Certification — this training provides the skills to install, configure, and optimize personal computer hardware and operating systems. This course also includes a CompTIA A+ exam voucher.
