This certificate prepares you with a well-rounded combination of conceptual and manual skills centered around light-frame construction materials and methods to enable competitive employment as a skilled construction field worker.

This certificate is intended to build on the coursework and field experience acquired through the completion of the basic building crafts certificate. The advanced certificate develops skills in digital construction documentation, building code principles, and connects classroom design and documentation training with relevant field experience.

Students entering the building crafts program must determine their English and math course placement levels. CCD provides several options to determine your course placement, detailed at CCD.edu/CoursePlacement.

Prior to registering, you will meet with the program coordinator and chair to design an education plan to help you succeed in the program.

Yes, Prior Learning Assessments (PLAs) for individuals with industry experience are available so you can demonstrate skills that allow you to test out of modules or entire classes. For additional information, please contact Mark Broyles.

For Colorado residents, the tuition for the basic or advanced certificate program is $3,118.53* for the 2018-19 academic year. This tuition includes the cost of the AEC 280 Internship ($4762.02*). For more details about program costs, visit CCD.edu/Tuition

How Can I Apply?

Get started by filling out our free online application at CCD.edu/Apply. If you’re at least 17 years of age, you will be automatically accepted. We will send you an acceptance letter via email with your Student ID number and instructions to log into your Navigate Student Portal.
