The exhibition features work created during the past year by CCD students at all levels from across the College. Many of the entries are submitted by students who are focusing on a Degree with Designation in studio arts or art history as well as students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree or certificate in graphic design and are often created in a variety of courses, including drawing I, drawing II, 2D design, 3D design, 4D design, painting, photography, as well as graphic design courses. However, many students from outside these programs enter their artwork as well, expanding the expression of creativity across our college community!
All artwork and design selected for exhibition in the student art show is juried by recognized art and design professionals. Jurors also select award winners for scholarships! These artists and designers are also highlighted in CCD’s OurGlass publication alongside select student creative writing.
Scholarship awards are given in each category, plus Juror’s Choice awards and Best in Show!
Additional recognition is given to award winners and selected works in CCD’s OurGlass publication. Ourglass is the journal of English, graphic design and visual arts programs at CCD, dedicated to providing a forum for poetry, prose, drama, design and artwork for our students.
Any student, part-time or full-time, enrolled in a CCD class from the previous Spring semester to the Spring semester of the current Student Art Show is eligible to submit artwork. Submission to this juried exhibition is free! Submissions can be any art or design work done within a CCD class or independently, but while enrolled in this period. You can submit artwork to the following categories:
NOTE: You may submit up to five entries per category, and enter finished work in any category you feel ready for!
Submission method and requirements will be communicated in the month leading up to the CCD Annual Juried Art Show each Spring Semester. Stay tuned to your CCD email, your D2L course announcements and communications from CCD.edu to be ready to show your best work!
