CCD’s Advanced Manufacturing Center is pleased to offer a variety of non-credit continuing education courses and offerings for the employer and resident community. We also provide custom employer-based training as well. HEIDENHAIN Controllers provides technical training covering installation, programming, and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming, as well as general training for distributors and end-users. CCD’s Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) is one of two U.S.-based official training sites for HEIDENHAIN Controllers.

Who Should Attend

This non-credit training is recommended for basic CNC operators, but anyone can attend, regardless of your prior experience (must be at least 18 years old).

Participants will receive an official certification from the HEIDENHAIN Corporation.

Course Contents

  • Basic knowledge: File management, tool table, presettable
  • Path functions: cartesian contour description, polar contour description
  • Cycles: drilling cycles, cycles for milling pockets, studs and slots, face milling, SL cycles, coordinate transformation cycles
  • Programming techniques: program section repeats, sub-programming, nesting
  • Pattern definitions: DXF converter and the simple contour formula

Objectives of the course: The course participants can create and test programs from workpiece drawings with HEIDENHAIN TNC controllers/controls (TNC 640 and iTNC530).

Cost

The cost is $700 per person. Participants are responsible for travel, meals, and lodging.

Mastercam 2019 includes many new features and enhancements. Take the next step into Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) programming by attending this introductory course. This one-day, non-credit training is designed for anyone who has a basic understanding of Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machining. 

Taught by an experienced CNC machining instructor with ten years of hands-on Mastercam experience in machining prototyping. The training is held in the computer lab at the Community College of Denver’s Advanced Manufacturing Center. Must be at least 18 years old to attend.

Welding is a sought-after skill with career opportunities. If you are a beginner looking to understand the basics, want to work on a personal or art project, or you’re experienced and want to improve your welding skillset, you’ve come to the right place. While workshops are frequently scheduled in the evening, we have flexibility to schedule workshops during normal business hours and Saturdays.

CCD welding instructors facilitate our open labs.

Open labs are offered in nightly sessions. These sessions can be used to develop a particular skill needed for personal projects or hobbies. When possible, we can accommodate the project being worked on in the welding lab.

Each workshop includes a required safety orientation for the task being performed.

We offer wire Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) basic training for beginners. All training is on the Agie Charmilles Cut20p Wire EDM machine and is led by our experienced wire EDM instructors at Community College of Denver.
