2017 César Chávez Peace & Justice Leadership Awards Nomination Form

Latinx Leadership Summit Planning Committee is seeking nominations for the César Chávez Peace and Justice Leadership Award to be presented at the 13th Annual Latinx Leadership Summit on Thursday, March 30, 2017.
About the Nominees
An award will be given to one current student from each institution on the Auraria campus who embodies the ideals of César Chávez. Recipients who are chosen for this award have demonstrated a continued commitment and willingness to serve their community. Their work has had a clear impact in ways that embody the work of César Chávez.
The committee urges interested parties to forward nominations of those who might be commendable of such an award. Self nominations are also accepted. Please consider nominating a student (or yourself) who fulfills some or all of the following criteria:
- A demonstrated willingness to sacrifice for the good of others and their community..
- Demonstrated history of activism, organizing, volunteering.
- Stands and educates for the ideals of social justice.
- Persistence against great odds.
- Leads by example.
IMPORTANT: Recipients will be honored at the 13th Annual Latinx Leadership Summit on Thursday, March 30th 2017 in St. Cajetan’s on the Auraria Campus. Recipients will be asked to give a short acceptance speech during the lunch portion of the summit. Please include contact information for both the nominator and the nominee in the letter of nomination.
