Dental Hygiene is a health profession with a primary focus on preventive care.

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Dental Hygiene requires one academic year of pre dental hygiene courses followed by two additional full-time years of enrollment in the Dental Hygiene Program. The science and clinical base of the professional curriculum offers educational, clinical, and communicative skills required for the dental hygiene student to become a valued member of the dental health team.

Instructional efforts are progressive and innovative including a twenty-two-chair dental hygiene clinic with individual operatories. The entire building is solely dedicated to the instructional needs of the dental hygiene program and students. Students begin learning dental hygiene skills in a laboratory setting and proceed to supervised clinical practice with patients. Classroom work emphasizes dental sciences.
